In this session you will learn the basic components of shared reading and how you can incorporate it into your classroom. Shared reading is an interactive reading experience in which students are guided by the teacher to read a short piece of text. The text can be a poem, big book, or an excerpt of text. Shared reading is a method in which teachers can model fluency and expression and teach skills and strategies in context. Modifications will be shown to differentiate for varying grade levels and skills.
